The Challenge

UBER is one of the fastest-growing organisations in recent times. They are expanding into many other areas as well as providing an app-driven taxi service.

Very early in its setup of the Netherlands office. The workplace manager knew they would run out of space (within 18 months). To help manage the space use and understand the growth, it would be essential to plan ahead. To understand at which point they would need more space.

What would become key, is having the ability to see the utilisation data on a daily basis. To know when to move at the right time. If the growth could be managed in the existing space it would avoid the need to spend money too soon. This would lessen the burden on a growing company.

The Solution

Spaceology provided the sensor solution with expertise and knowledge. The output provided the property team with valuable data to make informed decisions:

Sensor Technology

Implemented the sensor technology to desks, meeting rooms and collaboration over four floors

Live Space Usage

The property team accessed the data via the Spaceology dashboard, providing real-time updates. With historical data trended over time

Data Analysis

Spaceology data analysis supported increased understanding of office space utilisation. Which departments had capacity to increase head count. Investigate meeting room usage to drive a change in the design of support spaces
